$80,000 income, Ontario, no RRSP. Federal tax: 14.5% on $57,375 = $8,319.38 + 20.5% on $22,625 = $4,638.13 = $12,957.51. Less BPA credit ($16,129 × 14.5%) = $2,338.71. Federal tax net = $10,618.80. Ontario tax: 5.05% on $51,446 = $2,598.02 + 9.15% on $28,554 = $2,612.69 = $5,210.71. Less Ontario BPA credit ($11,853 × 5.05%) = $598.58. Ontario tax net = $4,612.13. Total tax = $15,230.93. Take-home = $64,769.07. Effective rate = 19.04%.
